- A new parasitic wasp species, Chelonus (Carinichelonus) mahadeb, was discovered in Assam tea estates and belongs to the Braconidae family known for parasitoid behaviour.
- The rare plant Henckelia monophylla has been rediscovered in Arunachal Pradesh after about 189 years and is an endemic species of the Gesneriaceae family, first collected in 1836.
