- R. Praggnanandhaa became the first Indian to win the Grand Chess Tour (GCT) after defeating Fabiano Caruana (USA) 15–13 in the final at St. Louis, USA.
- India’s first 100% indigenous AK-203 ‘Sher’ assault rifle was successfully manufactured and test-fired at the Korwa Ordnance Facility in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.
