- Google DeepMind introduced AlphaGenome Atlas, a database predicting the effects of single genetic changes across the human genome.
- It uses the AlphaGenome Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to predict the regulatory effects of all 9 billion possible single-nucleotide variants, creating a 1-petabyte dataset.
- The Indian Air Force (IAF) launched its first Dronathon-2026 at the Pokhran Field Firing Range, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, to test surveillance, reconnaissance, autonomous operations, swarm technologies, electronic warfare and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS).
- Talabira II & III coal mine in Odisha recorded its highest-ever annual coal production of 19.14 million tonnes (MT) in FY 2025–26.

- FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) ordered the recall of Shalimar’s Chef–Coriander Powder, manufactured by M/s Nilgiri Oil & Allied Industries, due to unsafe pesticide residues, and Carrageenan, manufactured by M/s Aquagri Processing Pvt Ltd, due to unsafe cadmium levels.
- The recall was ordered under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards (Food Recall Procedure) Regulations, 2017.
