- Professor Mahesh Kakde of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, received the Ramanujan Prize 2026 for his contributions to algebraic number theory.
- The Ramanujan Prize has been awarded annually since 2005 to mathematicians under 45 from developing countries for outstanding research.
- The 12th National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX-2026) is being conducted by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) off the Paradip coast, Odisha.
