- It is the third state in India to achieve full literacy, after Mizoram and Goa.
- The state's literacy rate has reached 95.6%, up from just 20.24% in 1961.
- ULLAS is a centrally sponsored scheme, launched in 2022 and running till 2027.
- The programme aims to empower non-literate youth and adults (15+ years).
- It focuses on foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical life skills.
