- Erode hosts the second-largest turmeric market in India after Nizamabad, Telangana.
- It exports to countries like Germany, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Bangladesh.
- Turmeric cultivation in Erode covers over 30% of Tamil Nadu’s 1.60 lakh acres under the spice, producing more than two lakh bags annually.
