The Seventh UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) was held under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya.
UNEA is the highest global environmental decision-making forum and was created in 2012 after the Rio+20 Conference.
The theme of UNEA-7 (2025) was “Advancing sustainable solutions for a resilient planet.”
The assembly approved UNEP’s Medium-Term Strategy (MTS) for 2026–2030 to align global environmental policies.
UNEP’s MTS focuses on the climate stability, biodiversity conservation, zero pollution, resilient ecosystems, sustainable resource use, and stronger environmental governance.
