- Telangana has the highest per capita Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transaction intensity among all Indian states.
- Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, and Maharashtra also show high UPI usage intensity, driven by urban centers and economic hubs.
- The rise of UPI is linked to the decline in cash demand, evidenced by a steady fall in ATM cash withdrawals as a percentage of GDP.
- Currency in circulation (CIC) has a share of 11.2 per cent of GDP in 2024–25.
- UPI crossed 20 billion monthly transactions for the first time in August 2025.

- Intensity remains high in Telangana, Andhra, Delhi and Maharashtra.
