- The President of India has given assent to the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB–G RAM G) Bill, 2025.
- The Act replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005.
- Under the Act, the Government has listed four focus areas for works.
- These focus areas are water security and water-related works, core rural infrastructure, and livelihood-related infrastructure.
- The fourth focus area under the Act is works to mitigate extreme weather events.
- Wage employment under the Act is linked to the creation of durable public assets in rural areas.
