The Union Cabinet approved the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II) for the years 2024–25 to 2028–29.
The scheme will help develop villages near India’s International Land Borders (ILBs), except the northern border, which is already covered under VVP-I.
The total budget of the scheme is ₹6,839 crore, and it covers 18 states and Union Territories like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
