- Hindi poet and novelist Vinod Kumar Shukla, died in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
- He was born in 1937 in Rajnandgaon (the present Chhattisgarh) and began his writing career in 1971.
- He won the Jnanpith Award in 2024 and was the first writer from Chhattisgarh to receive it.
- His well-known works include Naukar Ki Kameez and Deewar Mein Ek Khidki Rehti Thi.
