- The World Economic Forum (WEF) released the Energy Transition Index (ETI).
- Energy-related carbon dioxide emissions have climbed to an all-time high of 37.8 billion tonnes last year.
- Nordic countries — Sweden, Finland and Denmark — continue to top the ETI.
- China, meanwhile, reached a record-high 12th position
- From a rank of 63 in 2024, India has now slipped to rank 71.
- China topped the “Emerging Asia” category.
