- It was formed on 29 August 1991 through a joint declaration issued in Weimar, Germany.
- One of its objectives is to involve France in the reconciliation between Germany and Poland.
- Another objective is to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation among the three countries.
- It also supports Poland’s integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU).
