The India’s Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and UN Women signed an MoU.
The MoU aims to enhance the participation of women entrepreneurs from the informal sector in public procurement under GeM’s Womaniya initiative.
GeM allows women entrepreneurs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to directly supply products to Central and State Government ministries, departments, PSUs, and autonomous bodies.
UN Women will provide training, global best practices, success stories, validation criteria, and mobilise women trainers.
The collaboration supports gender-responsive procurement, strengthens hyper-local market linkages.
