- The first-ever World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day will be observed in the year 2025.
- The day aims to promote global action to eliminate cervical cancer.
- The day was officially declared by the Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly (WHA78.8).
- It builds on the 2020 commitment by 194 countries to end cervical cancer.
- The theme for 2025 is “Act Now: Eliminate Cervical Cancer”.
- The global targets aim for 90% vaccination, 70% screening, and 90% treatment by 2030.
