- World Deaf Day was first celebrated in 1958 by the World Federation of the Deaf to mark the achievements and rights of deaf people.
- It is observed on the last Sunday of September to coincide with the International Week of the Deaf.
- The 2025 theme is “Set the basis for the future: together we can innovate, inspire and impact!”.
