World Fisheries Day 2025 - November 21

The day started in 1997 in New Delhi, where delegates from 18 countries formed the World Fisheries Forum, making India the origin of this observance.
India is now the second-largest fish producer in the world after China and a major shrimp exporter.
Marine product exports increased by 11.08% between 2024 and 2025.
India celebrated the day with the theme “India’s Blue Transformation: Strengthening Value Addition in Seafood Exports.”
