November 6 , 2025 16 hrs 0 min 10 0
  • The day aims to celebrate one of the ocean’s oldest and most fascinating creatures.
  • Jellyfish have existed for over 500 million years, predating even the dinosaurs.
  • They lack a brain, heart, and bones, yet possess nerve nets that help them sense light and movement.
  • Some species, like Turritopsis dohrnii, are called “immortal jellyfish” because they can revert to a youthful stage and live indefinitely.
  • Many jellyfish are bioluminescent, producing light used for survival and studied in genetic research.
