- It also honours those of media professionals who have lost their lives or risked everything to find the truth.
- In 2024, 82 lost their lives in the course of their work, compared to 74 in 2023.
- The theme for 2025 is “Reporting in the Brave New World – The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media.”
