World Press Freedom Prize 2025

The UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2025 was awarded to Nicaraguan newspaper La Prensa- El Diario de los Nicaragüenses.
It has operated in exile since 2021.
In 2024, the prize was awarded to Palestinan journalists covering the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
This prize named after Guillermo Cano Isaza, the founder of Colombian newspaper El Espectador.
He was assassinated in front of its offices in Bogotá on December 17, 1986.
