World Rhino Day 2026 - September 22

The day aims to raise awareness about protecting the five remaining rhino species.
The five species are White Rhinoceros, Black Rhinoceros, Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, Javan Rhinoceros and Sumatran Rhinoceros.
Around 27,000 rhinos remain in the wild, compared with nearly 5 lakh a century ago.
India is home to the Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, with nearly 4,000 in India and Nepal.
The theme for the year 2026 is “Keep the Five Alive”.
