The first gallery of the Yuge Yugeen Bharat National Museum is expected to open by the end of 2026.
It is being developed by the Ministry of Culture under the Central Vista Redevelopment Project.
It will replace the existing National Museum and will be located in the North Block and South Block buildings in New Delhi.
The museum will showcase 5,000 years of Indian civilisation and display artefacts such as Indus Valley objects, Gupta-period sculptures, and Chola bronzes.
India and France are jointly developing the museum, using France’s expertise in museum design and management.
