Tripura recorded a zero per cent dropout rate in Classes 1–5 during the 2025–26 academic year, according to UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) data.
Tripura’s primary school dropout rate declined from 2.21% in 2013–14 to 0% in 2025–26.
The secondary-level dropout rate also declined from 25.51% to 10.40% during the same period.
The state linked the improvement to initiatives including NIPUN Bharat Mission and Saharsha Tripura.
Tripura plans to introduce Balvatikas (pre-primary classes) in all 2,048 primary schools within two years.
