60 percent share of renewable energy in Major ports

  • The Government has aimed to increase India’s share of renewable energy to 60% in Major ports through solar and wind power.
  • Presently, renewable energy accounts for less than 10% of power demand at the ports.
  • The Government also targets to electrify 50% of port equipment by 2030.
  • The Ports aim to reduce carbon emissions/ton by 30% by 2030.
