Face Authentication for Electronic Public Distribution System (ePDS) was launched jointly by UIDAI, the Department of Food and Public Distribution, and the National Informatics Centre.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number issued by UIDAI, which functions under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
