- Indian boxers won five gold medals at the AIBA [International Boxing Association (amateur)] Women's Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati.
- Nitu, Jyoti, Sakshi and Shashi Chopra from Haryana and Assam's Ankushita Boro won golds in their respective weight categories.
- Anupama and Neha Yadav won bronze medals in their respective categories.
- This was India's best performance in the tournament's history so far.
