- Allahabad is set to be rechristened as ‘Prayag’, a long pending demand of sadhus and saints of the Sangam City.
- A decision in this regard could be taken before 2019 Kumbh Mela in the holy city where three main rivers flowing across the state namely Ganges, Yamuna, and Sarasvati meet.
- The place is also known for hosting Kumbh Mela once in every 12 years.
