- The antiquities and structures found at Alagankulam prove that there existed an urban civilisation, Industries and trade connections to overseas countries.
- The discovery of burnt brick structures proves that people used such bricks during the Sangam period in Tamil Nadu.
- A cross symbol-inscribed seal shows that it must have been used by the Romans who had landed here for trade.
