- Grand Master Vidit Gujrathi has been appointed as the brand ambassador of All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB).
- Vidit Gujrathi is the fourth Grand Master from India.
- The other three are Grand Masters from India are,
- Viswanathan Anand
- Krishnan Sasikiran
- Pentala Harikrishna
- The National 'A Chess Championship for the visually challenged was held in Mumbai.
- The top players will form the Indian teams for the upcoming World Team Championships in July in Bulgaria and World Junior for the Blind to be held in Poland.
