- Cambodia announced its support for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative at the UN Climate Conference COP30 in Belem, Brazil.
- With Cambodia joining in it, the total number of countries supporting the treaty increased to 18.
- The initiative aims to create a global legal plan to phase out coal, oil and gas.
- Ten more countries, including Sri Lanka and Nepal, are currently informal observers to the initiative.
