  • Arunachal Pradesh’s traditional blade Dao and highland cheese Yak Churpi received the Geographical Indication (GI) tag in November 2025.
  • Dao is handcrafted by tribal artisans using traditional forging methods and represents cultural identity and craftsmanship.
  • Yak Churpi is a dairy product made from indigenous Arunachali Yak milk, mainly in West Kameng and Tawang districts, with a dense texture, high nutrition, and long shelf-life.
  • Arunachal Pradesh has about 20 GI-tagged items so far and aims to reach 50 by 2030.
