- Uttar Pradesh State Government, in association with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has launched ‘DASTAK’
- ‘DASTAK’ is a door to door campaign to eradicate deadly Acute Encephalitis (AE) Syndrome and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) disease from the state.
- The tagline for DASTAK is “Darwaja khat khatao, AES aur JE kobhagao”.
- In DASTAK campaign, the whole state machinery with the help of UNICEF will now literally go door to door in 38 JE and AE affected districts.
- JE and AE affected areas mostly fall in the Tarai region of the state. Tarai region of Uttar Pradesh is lies adjacent with the borders of Nepal.
