- Maharashtra has implemented Disha Abhiyan in 453 special schools.
- It provides a uniform and high-quality education for students with intellectual disabilities.
- The curriculum was developed by Jai Vakil Foundation and approved by the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID).
- Maharashtra is the first state in India to adopt such a comprehensive curriculum for this group.
