- University of Kerala have launched an international collaborative research project titled “The Ecology and Evolution of Cultural and Cooperative Behavior among Dolphins and Humans”.
- The study aims to study the cooperative fishing behaviour (mutualism) between Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins and fishers in Ashtamudi Lake, Kerala.
- It will, for the first time, compare dolphin–fisher cooperation across three continents, including those observed in Brazil and Myanmar.
