- The digital platform e-Kisan Upaj Nidhi was launched to help the farmers to take loans against their produce kept in registered warehouses.
- Farmers will get easy credit at 7 percent interest rate without any guarantee.
- The loans given to the farmers will be provided on the basis of Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR).
- There are currently over 5,500 registered godowns under the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority.
- While the total number of agri-godowns is estimated at around one lakh.
