- The model promotes mangrove-linked shrimp farming covering 5% to 30% mangrove area in ponds.
- It was implemented across 29.84 hectares involving 42 fish farmers in North and South 24 Parganas districts.
- The annual average net profit of farmers increased by over 100% due to reduced production costs.
- The award was given, during FAO’s 80th anniversary celebrations in Rome, Italy.
