	- A faunal survey by the Forest Department at the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve in Palakkad has added 15 new species to the protected area’s checklist.
 
	- The survey recorded a total of 206 bird species.
 
	- With the new additions, the total number of bird species in the reserve to 302 species.
 
	- Five new butterfly species were also added to the reserve’s checklist.
 
	- The addition of these species brings the butterfly count at the reserve to 273.
 
	- Moreover, the survey has identified 39 species of odonates, including three new species.
