- 7 Indian states celebrate their formation day on November 1. The states include, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana.
- The union territories of Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar also celebrate their formation day on November 01.
- It is 63rd foundation day of Karnataka and the state is hosting Karnataka Rajyotsava by hoisting red and yellow flags of Karnataka.
- Karnataka, which was initially called as Mysore, was renamed as Karnataka in 1973.
- For Kerala, it marks the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the state. Organised on linguistic principles, the modern borders of Kerala came into existence in 1956.
- Haryana celebrates its 52nd anniversary of the Formation Day on November, 2018. It was carved out of the former state of East Punjab on November 1, 1966.
- Madhya Pradesh celebrated its 63rd Foundation Day on November 1.
