- The two-day Global Cooling Innovation Summit was inaugurated by the Union Science & Technology Ministry in New Delhi.
- It is a first-of-its-kind solutions-focused event which aims to address the climate threats that comes from the growing demand from room air conditioners.
- It also launched the Global Cooling Prize — Mission Innovation challenge.
- The prize is supported by Mission Innovation, the Government of India through the Department of Science and Technology and its partner organizations.
