Global Pastoralist Gathering and Conference 2026

Mongolia hosted the Global Pastoralist Gathering and Conference under the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) 2026.
The conference discussed sustainable pastoralism and rangeland management.
The event was jointly organised by Mongolia’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Participants prepared the Global Pastoralists’ Declaration, Women’s Pastoralists’ Declaration and Youth Pastoralists’ Declaration.
The outcomes will contribute to discussions at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP17, which Mongolia is hosting in August 2026.
