	- A study by Eunomia and Zero Carbon Analytics shows that seven countries had produced two-thirds of the most used plastics in 2024.
 
	- China alone accounted for 34 percent of the global production of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate and polystyrene.
 
	- This output is equal to the combined total of the next six top-producing countries.
 
	- The United States followed with 13 percent, while Saudi Arabia and South Korea each contributed 5 percent.
 
	- India produced 4 percent, Japan 3 percent and Germany 2 percent of the total.
