  • "Global trends in tobacco use 2000–2024 and projections 2025–2030" report was released by the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • More than 100 million people worldwide vape, including 15 million children aged 13 to 15 years.
  • Children are nine times more likely than adults to use e-cigarettes in countries with available data.
  • Global tobacco users declined from 1.38 billion in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024.
  • Tobacco use remains prevalent, with one in five adults still affected worldwide.
  • Female tobacco use dropped from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024, while male decline is slower.
  • South-East Asia reduced male tobacco use from 70% in 2000 to 37% in 2024, contributing to half of the global decline.
