"Global trends in tobacco use 2000–2024 and projections 2025–2030" report was released by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Female tobacco use dropped from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024, while male decline is slower.
South-East Asia reduced male tobacco use from 70% in 2000 to 37% in 2024, contributing to half of the global decline.
