- Gooty Tarantula spiders which is endemic to Eastern Ghats was spotted for the first time beyond its known habitat. (original habitat: Nandyala, Andhra Pradesh)
- It was spotted at in the Pakkamalai Reserve Forests near Gingee in Villupuram district.
- Scientific Name: Poecilotheria metallica Common Name: Peacock Parachute Spider
- IUCN Status: Critically endangered
