- Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Sikh Guru, born on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar.
- He was executed in Delhi on the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb for defending the religious rights of Kashmiri Pandits in 1675.
- 2025 was his 350th Martyrdom Day.
- He is honoured with the title “Hind Di Chadar” (Shield of India) for protecting freedom of faith.
- He composed 115 hymns included in the Guru Granth Sahib.
- His son Guru Gobind Singh succeeded him as the tenth Sikh Guru.
