Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Sikh Guru, born on 1 April 1621 in Amritsar.
He was executed in Delhi on the orders of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb for defending the religious rights of Kashmiri Pandits in 1675.
2025 was his 350th Martyrdom Day.
He is honoured with the title “Hind Di Chadar” (Shield of India) for protecting freedom of faith.
He composed 115 hymns included in the Guru Granth Sahib.
His son Guru Gobind Singh succeeded him as the tenth Sikh Guru.
