Har Ghar Jal Milestone

More than 2 lakh villages have been declared ‘Har Ghar Jal’ certified under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched on 15 August 2019 to provide safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household.
The number of rural households with tap-water connections has increased from 3.23 crore to 15.91 crore since the scheme began.
More than 12.68 crore additional rural households have received tap-water connections under the mission.
The coverage increased from 16.7% at launch to the present level, according to the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
