  • The Black-headed Ibis is classified as a Near Threatened species by the IUCN.
  • These birds feed on fish, insects, amphibians, and small aquatic creatures in wetlands and riverbanks.
  • Salt pans provide a critical habitat for migratory and resident birds during the northeast monsoon season.
