- IIT Roorkee has signed MoU with National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) for the development of BASIIC initiative.
- It aims to work in the areas of universal design principles and to have the development of BASIIC (Building Accessible Safe Inclusive Indian Cities).
- Both the entities will engage in this with all their technical support in order to make Indian cities more accessible, safe for living.
