- NASA has invited the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to join its Moon Base programme under the Artemis Accords.
- The invitation was discussed at the 9th India-U.S. Civil Space Joint Working Group (CSJWG) meeting in Bengaluru.
- India signed the Artemis Accords on June 21, 2023, supporting cooperation in peaceful lunar and deep-space exploration.
- NASA and ISRO also agreed to advance open scientific data sharing under their wider civil space cooperation.
- The cooperation follows the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission launched in July 2025.
