- India operates the 6th largest nuclear reactor fleet in the world.
- Nuclear power contributes about 3.1% of total electricity generation in 2024–25.
- The present installed nuclear capacity is 8.78 GW.
- Indigenous Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) technology now supports 700 MW reactors.
- With new 700 MW and 1000 MW reactors, capacity is projected to reach 22.38 GW by 2031–32.
- The government announced the Nuclear Energy Mission to achieve 100 GW by 2047.
